When it comes to get togethers, there is nothing quite like a family reunion.  When we get together with family members, we can connect in a way that isn’t possible with the other people in our lives.  These are the people who share a common history with us, the ones who can reminisce with us even as we make new memories.

There was a time when most members of a family stayed close by even as they grew up, got married, and added new branches to the family tree.  But in today’s world, the branches of the tree can spread across the country and even around the world.  Family reunions provide an opportunity to bring everyone together to reconnect and keep the bonds of family strong.

While some family reunions are simply a picnic in a park, many families have to put a lot of time, effort, and planning into their event.  If people are coming from long distances, your family reunion may last for several days and will require things like meals, lodging, and transportation.  If you have never planned this type of event before, it can be quite daunting.  To help, here are some great resources on planning a family reunion.
