World Egg Day and PJs? It’s an event you don’t want to miss!

Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner? We don’t know of anyone and that’s why we want to make certain you don’t miss out on the second annual “PJs & Eggs” breakfast-for-dinner event for which Hickman’s Family Farms asks restaurants around the state to open for “breakfast for dinner.” The Friday, October 8 event also coincides with World Egg Day.

“PJ’s & Eggs”  benefits Arizona’s Children Association, a statewide foster care program. Hickman’s Family Farms is Arizona’s only commercial egg producer and they explained that participating restaurants will serve breakfast from 5 p.m. to close – close times will be determined by individual restaurants. Restaurant customers and employees are urged to wear pajamas to the restaurant that evening.

Customers who participate in the “breakfast for dinner” event are asked to donate a new pair of pajamas to the AzCA foster care children. Customers who make a pajama donation will be entered to win gift certificates from participating restaurants, they will also receive a certificate for a free dozen eggs that can be redeemed at any grocery store that sells Hickman’s eggs. Hickman’s will also donate eggs to the restaurants that participate in the “breakfast” to help ease the food costs for the evening.

Participating restaurants are already displaying a pajama collection container (provided by Hickman’s and AzCA) with signage so customers know which restaurants to visit on October 8. For customers who cannot participate on the breakfast event will receive a certificate for free eggs simply by donating pajamas up until the time of the event.

Participating restaurants will donate a portion of the proceeds from “PJ’s & Eggs” to AzCA foster care programs, which supports purchasing basic supplies to fulfill needs of the children in its statewide foster care program. Volunteers from AzCA and/or members of the Hickman’s family will be on hand at participating restaurants during the night of the event to assist with collecting pajamas, distributing the free egg certificates and collecting raffle tickets.

Last year, 12 restaurants participated in the PJs & Eggs night. For information and participation contact: Renee Moore, event coordinator by email at renee@reneemoorepr.com, or call 602-920-4345.
