Simmer Down

Soups on! Good, homemade soup  is just the ticket in the month of January. Plus, you can fill your soups with lots of Arizona home-grown products. Soups, stews and comfort foods make these long cold stretches more livable.

Our Fill Your Plate recipes offer a variety of soups. And some recipes mean you simply add the ingredients, cover the pot and walk away, letting the magic of a slow simmer do its work.

Of course, since we’re in Arizona we have a great tortilla soup recipe but some other comfort food soups include meatball soup, chicken & wild rice soup and comforting corn chowder soup.

Remember to search by ingredient when on Fill Your Plate. If you want to use that extra hamburger for one of your soups then select beef to see what soup recipes come up.

So make a batch of hot cocoa and enjoy a day of satisfying slow food. Most of our soup recipes  freeze well too. So warm your hands on a bowl now and store some away for another cold day.
