Protein is one of the most important parts of anyone’s diet. The body needs protein to function as it helps with everyday things like build and repair tissues, make enzymes and hormones and other body chemicals, build bones, muscles cartilage, skin, and blood. Protein even helps with food digestion. Protein, luckily, is in a lot of things we eat.

My favorite way to get protein is to eat a nice, big steak! I also like to get my protein from chicken and seafood. It can sometimes be hard to decide what vegetable or protein meat to make for the main course of a meal, so I’ve created a list from Fill Your Plate’s blog featuring information on protein, and some recipes to help you get started:

  1. Three Ounces of Beef Packs a Powerful Punch
  2. Smokey Three-Bean and Beef Chili
  3. Add More Fish to your Diet
  4. Eat Beans and Live Longer?
  5. Beef is an Excellent Source of Protein
  6. White Bean and Lentil Chili
  7. 50 Things to do with Chicken
  8. Tips for Getting Enough Protein
  9. Legumes and Nuts
  10. Beef is one of the most Naturally Nutrient-Rich Foods

Make it a point to include protein in your diet every week. Like I said, steak is my favorite dinner! But you can always switch it up by cooking chicken, fish, or legumes. Include a side of fruits, vegetables, and grains, and you’ve got a very solid meal.
