 With school going back into session, here are five ideas for at-home science experiments to enjoy with your kids!

1 . Milk Magic

This experiment is an easy way to teach kids about surface tension as they watch in awe while the colors of food dye separate from soap in a milk dish. They will love watching the colors magically move on their own!

2 . Make a Fossil

Are your children fascinated with ancient dinosaurs? This is a fun activity to teach how fossils are made, while making their very own. On top of that, it gives them a keepsake to have forever!

3 . Water Density Rainbow

This science experiment is designed to teach about how water density works. It also creates a mesmerizing rainbow that will keep your kids’ attention the whole time. 

4 . Skittles Science

Do you have any old candy on the shelf you’ve been meaning to throw out? Don’t toss the Skittles! Use them in this experiment to teach your children about solubility. It also makes a swirl of vibrant colors that the kids will love. 

5 . Make a Sundial

Take the time to go on a walk with your kids, looking for the coolest small rocks. This activity allows for them to learn how to make a sundial out of simple items, including those special stones! The kids will love trying to tell time by looking at the shadows.
