Beatty’s Guest Ranch & Orchard
We are a family owned orchard and guest ranch. We grow over 29 varities of apples.
We are all organic, although we are not certified. Come out and visit us soon!
Our Orchard is located in Miller Canyon nestled between two 9200+ foot peaks (Miller/Carr)
and lies in a basin on the leeward and east side of the two Peaks, at 5800 feet.
This unique location means
summer monsoon clouds form earlier, sun comes up later in winter and goes behind the mountains early in all the seasons.
Our dry farm relies on an average of 32 inches of rain instead of irrigation. One of the natural
methods used through out the Orchard is that the 1300 apple trees are mulched with straw/compost and fertilized with steer manure.
Apples: 29 Varieties listed in order of ripening.
SUMMER: Earligold, Earliblaze and Gravenstein.
FALL: Bert's Special, Jonathan, Dolgo Crab, Gala, McIntosh, Spartan, Honeycrisp and Cortland.
WINTER: Northwest Greening, Chieftain, Gold Delicious, Galerine**, Red Delicious, Freedom
