My FBFS – More than Just Customer Service

My FBFS, the new iPhone application released in April by Farm Bureau Financial Services (FBFS), provides existing and potential customers with a direct link to their FBFS insurance agent and several other helpful tools.   The app can be downloaded directly from the company’s website and the initial version works on the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad.  The Arizona Farm Bureau is proud to partner with Farm Bureau Financial Services and is excited to share the great news about their mobile app.

FBFS took a somewhat unique development approach by partnering with the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Students from both the journalism and computer science departments collaborated to create MyFBFS, gaining real-world experience on how to take a client’s need and translate that into an innovative solution.  Students also got to participate in the entire lifecycle of the project from the initial business problem through to the release of the app.  The collaboration provided a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to partner with a corporate client and produce a real-world result that is in use by customers.

For FBFS, the release of the app is a win for them, their customers, and the group of students they partnered with to bring it to life.  By offering customers this type of tool, they have enabled them to interact with and connect to FBFS when and where they want to.   In addition to offering a quick way for existing customers to contact their agent, the free app also offers several other valuable features.

For potential customers who are looking for the right agent to work with on their insurance needs, the app provides a feature that will help Find an Agent by locating a nearby FBFS agent and offering the option of saving the agent’s contact information to the app for easy access in the future.

If you are in an accident, the Accident Details function allows you to enter all the information about the accident that you will need to file a claim.  Once entered, you can email yourself a copy of the details so you have it on hand for quick and easy claim reporting.  The Accident Details function simplifies the tracking of critical details after a minor accident and helps ensure critical information that is needed to get your claim processed and your car back on the road is not missed or forgotten.

My FBFS also provides a daily gas mileage calculator, enabling customers to keep track of distances and calculate gas mileage and overall trip expense.  Finally, just for fun, there is an interactive car bingo game included in the app that can help kids weather long car rides.
