Mom’s Homemade Guacamole and Dad’s Homemade Salsa

Mom’s Homemade Guacamole

Ingredients

 

  • 2-3 ripe avocados
  • 1-2 tbsp lime juice
  • ½ tomato, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped white or red onion
  • Salt, to taste (or use garlic salt)
  • ¼ cup of cilantro, finely chopped (optional)

 

Instructions

Mash avocado and lime juice with a fork. Fold in the tomato, cilantro, onion, and salt.

 

Dad’s Homemade Salsa

Ingredients

 

2 cans of stewed tomatoes (use Centos Marzano tomatoes if available)

1 can Rotel

2 tbsp of chopped onion, add to taste

Juice of 1 squeezed lime

Salt to taste

¼ cup of fresh cilantro, finely chopped

2 fresh diced tomatoes

 

Instructions

Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until combined.

 

Pico De Gallo

Ingredients

 

  • 4 ripe tomatoes
  • ½ cup chopped white onion
  • 1 jalapeno, minced (optional) (remove the seeds and veins if you don’t like a lot of heat)
  • ¼ cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • Lime juice, to taste
  • Salt, to taste

 

Instructions

As you chop each ingredient, add it to a medium bowl. Mix everything together when finished adding ingredients.
