Formerly a University of Arizona's citrus research center and located just outside Surprise in Waddell, Truman Ranch is the place to go if you want to purchase quality citrus and satisfy the fun of picking your own fruit!
Today, this U-pick farm is run James Truman, a fourth-generation Arizona citrus farmer . Truman had managed the university's Citrus Agricultural Center since 1988 and knows just about everything you can imagine about growing citrus: Yummy, juicy, unique varieties of citrus.
The 40-acre grove includes varieties of oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, grapes, lemons, berries, peaches and more. The center's research helped the once-thriving industry that made up one of the state's historic five "C's" – the others are cotton, copper, cattle and climate.
