Organizing Your Office

By Sarah Hunt, AZFB Communications Intern

Organizing your workspace doesn’t have to be a hassle. Make it easy with drawer organizers, bins, letter sorters, and other useful tools!

Shallow Desk Drawers

You will need:

Clear Plastic Drawer Organizers – These come in different sizes to fit all of your pens, paper clips, extra staples, and other office supplies. You may need to order more than one of these packs if you have a lot of items. If you have deeper drawers, I suggest getting some deeper bins to help organize your things.

Shelves

You will need:

Clear Organizing Drawers – Order as many of these as you need to store your stapler, three hole punch, label maker, and other office supplies.

Desktop

You will need:

Clear Mail Organizer – Use this to organize your electronics (tablet, laptop, smartphone, etc).

Multiple USB Port – Place this near your mail organizer to plug in and charge all your devices.

Calendar Mat – This can be kept on your desk, beneath your laptop during the day to pull out whenever you need to write down an event. At the end of the day, it can be hung up on the wall so your desk space is clear.

Organize Your Files, Or Scan Them

You will need:

Mail Organizers – Sort the files you use daily here.

Letter Tray – Place all of your most recent letters and documents here.

Document Boxes or Magazine Holders – Chose one of these for document storage.

File Boxes – Organize files by topic in these hanging file boxes. You can also get them in a slimmer version instead of a boxy version.

Or, place your scanner on your desktop or shelf so you can make all of your documents digital. I love using Docusign to virtually sign my documents, so I can avoid physically signing and scanning a document altogether.

Add Some Color With Wallpaper

You will need:

Peel-And-Stick Wallpaper – Whether you’re using a home office, a cubicle, or an office at work, peel-and-stick wallpaper is a great way to add color to your office. And the best part? It can be easily removed or changed.

Above The Desk

You will need:

Pegboard – Use one of these to organize small baskets full of thumbtacks, pens, scissors, staples, tape, paperclips, and more. They come in several styles, so pick your favorite!

Cork/White Board – Write down important notes and reminders on the white board side, and use the cork board side to hang up notes, quotes, photos, and more.
