“Lemony” Lemonade
Provided by:
Southwest Family Citrus and Spenar Family
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups sugar
- 3 Cups fresh lemon juice, strained (approx. 12 lg. lemons)
- 3 Cups soda water
- mint sprigs for serving
Directions:
Prepare the simple syrup: Place the sugar and 4 cups of cold water in a saucepan and boil over high heat, stirring with a wooden spoon until the sugar dissolves. Continue to boil for 5 minutes and remove from heat. Cool and refrigerate in a covered container. Simple syrup keeps for 3 to 4 weeks when refrigerated. Combine the remaining lemon juice, simple syrup, and 3 cups of soda water in a large pitcher. Pour over the lemonade ice cubes. Add a sprig of mint and straw to each drink. Serves 6.
