Medjool Date Bread
- 1 cup Natural Delights Medjool Dates, pitted and chopped (about 10 dates)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat the oven to 325°F and lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Combine the dates and baking soda in a large bowl. Pour boiling water over the dates and set aside to cool.
Once the date mixture has cooled, add flour, sugar, butter, salt, and the egg. Beat the mixture well. Stir in the walnuts, then pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
After baking, let the loaf stand for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan. Allow it to cool on a wire rack.
