October means cooler weather and warmer food.   It means trading citrus for root veggies and salads for soups.  Fortunately, it still means that there is a wide range of locally grown produce, dairy, poultry, and meat available to fill your family’s plate.  Focus on eating locally grown, in season options to get the most nutritional value for your food dollar.  Here are some great ways to fill your plate with what’s in season in October.
